Summer 2007 General Information

Dive Team

Eligibility
The dive tem is open to any child whose family is a full member of the pool.Children ages 5-18 can participate.

Practice:
Team members are required to attend a minimum of 2 practices per week.

June 6 - June 21, 2007
Monday, Wednesday and Friday 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Tuesday and Wednesday 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
 
June 22 - July 27, 2007
Tuesday through Friday 10 years olds and under 8:30 am - 9:30 am
 11 year olds - 18 year olds 9:00 am - 10:30 am
 Tuesday (all ages) 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday (all ages) 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
 
There are no Monday practices after June 22, 2007.
 
Meets:
The season runs from June 6, 2007 through July 27, 2007. Swim meets are scheduled for Wednesday eveneings at 6:00 pm and Saturday mornings at 9:00 am. Parents are required to work at least 2 to 3 meets during the season (timer, table worker, scorekeeper, official, etc.) There are also two ADDITIONAL swim meets during the season (Roycefield Sprints and the Minnie Minnow Meet). Coaches will inform you of more details on these meets.

Awards:
Ribbons are awarded at all dual meets and medals at all major meets. Team trophies are awarded at the chamionship meet. The Tiger Shark Swim Team won the 2006 chamionship over 7 other swim teams.

Fund Raising:
The swim team asks that each member "CAN" (ask for donations) at local stores for 2 hours on June 21, June 22 or June 23, 2007. Please sign up for "CAN"ning. If you are unable to "CAN", or prefer not to, a $30.00 donation per child or $50.00 donation per family is required.

Volunteering:
 Parents are required to help at meets. A few people are also needed to set up a small tent and two tables before and after each home meet. Timers, officials, scorekeepers and judges are also needed. At least 4 Officials are needed at every meet. Please attend the Official's Meetings (to be posted). If the team does not have enough Officials for a meet, the meet will be cancelled. A team bulletin board located in the pool entrance way will have sign up sheets as well as additional information.

Team Swim Suit:
The Tiger Sharks Team swim suit is OPTIONAL. Team suit for the girls is TYR Bionic Mayback, priced at $48.00 Team suit for the boys is TYR Illuminations, priced at $28.00 Suits are available from Metro Swim Shop located at 1221 Valley Road, Stirling, NJ 07980. Team Picnic:
A Tiger Sharks combined dive and swim team picnic is an annual event for the athletes and their parents. All swimmers, divers and siblings are free. There is a small charge for adults. More details will be provided at a later date.

Labor Day Parade:
This is an optional event for the team. Making a float takes alot of time and creativity. The Tiger Sharks are in search of a Committee Chairperson to take on this project. All team members are encouraged to come out and help with the float.

Team Gear:
Team clothing will be available before the swim season. Shorts, shirts, flannel pants, magnets and other iems will be available. Orders must be received by June 8th.
